TECHNOLOGY MEETS SAFETY

Cadillac’s commitment to advanced performance extends to safety with the introduction of three high-tech, optional features on the 2008 STS. These new advanced technologies enhance driver awareness and improve vehicle control.

STABILITRAK: The third generation of GM’s electronic stability control debuts on the 2008 STS V-8 AWD sedan. First introduced on the Seville a decade ago, the new edition of StabiliTrak adds active front steering. When a vehicle's rear wheels lose traction, the system turns the front wheels into the skid to help prevent loss of control.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM: This feature uses a camera in the rearview mirror to read the lines on the road. If the vehicle strays into another lane, audible and visual cues alert the driver. Activated at speeds of 35 mph or higher, the system only sends an alert if the driver has not signaled a lane change.

SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT: Radar beams sweep adjacent lanes of traffic to let the driver know when following vehicles enter the side blind zone. An alert symbol in the outside rearview mirror signals the lane is occupied. The system ignores stationary objects such as parked cars. These optional features enhance driver awareness and vision for an extra layer of protection.

STS STANDS ALONE

Looking for styling that turns heads and performance that guarantees it? Then look no further than the 2008 STS.

The new STS is available in V-6 and V-8 rear-wheeldrive and all-wheel-drive models. The 3.6L V-6 features variable valve timing and direct injection technology for gains in power, fuel efficiency and emissions performance.

Driver-oriented technology includes High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and the Intellibeam automatic high-beam system to light the way for nighttime driving safety. Other technological features include Adaptive Remote Start, Adaptive Cruise Control and the optional Lane Departure Warning System and Side Blind Zone alert. STS models feature one year of OnStar® service with Turn-by-Turn Navigation that delivers audio instructions automatically through the car’s stereo system.

The updated STS embodies the bold Cadillac signature design, with a dual-textured grille and side air extractors inspired by the Sixteen concept car and the Escalade. The lower front fascia features a new intake and grille pattern evoking Cadillac’s V-Series high-performance models. Chrome-plated door handles and lower body moldings add visual presence.

Come in to see how the 2008 STS is in a class by itself.

DID YOU KNOW:

The new 3.6L V-6 under the hood of the 2008 STS is GM’s most powerful V-6 on the market, with 302 horsepower. The secret is direct injection technology combined with variable valve timing. Direct injection allows a higher compression ratio, providing greater horsepower and efficiency. Variable valve timing reduces emissions and improves fuel economy.

Combined, these technologies mean powerful performance, lower emissions, increased fuel efficiency and a quieter ride. For more details on the new Escalade Hybrid and GM's commitment to developing environmentally conscious vehicles, visit CadillacExtra.com.

CADILLAC GOES GREEN

Cadillac’s luxury SUV gets the green treatment with the debut of the Escalade Hybrid. It’s one example of GM’s commitment to improve fuel economy and reduce the environmental impact of automobiles.

The Escalade Hybrid is powered by GM’s 2-Mode Hybrid system, which delivers more than a 50% improvement in city-driving fuel economy. The 2-Mode system seamlessly shifts between electric and gasoline power depending on demand from the driver. At a stoplight, the gasoline engine shuts down, conserving fuel. When the driver presses the accelerator, the Escalade Hybrid initially moves under electric power alone. Then as speed increases, both propulsion systems work together until the gasoline engine takes over at higher speeds.

The 6L V-8 also employs Active Fuel Management, shutting down four cylinders when additional power is not needed, such as during highway cruising.

With luxurious comfort for eight and a full-range of technological features, the Escalade Hybrid stays true to its roots, then goes a step beyond with its exceptional fuel economy. Be one of the first to experience the newest addition to the Escalade family when it debuts this summer.
